I write with sad news that David Schofield passed away on 27 July, aged 85yrs old.

David Schofield joined the Suffolk CBA Committee in 1987, taking the Secretary role, a job he did until 1996.

He returned as Chairman in 2003, for a further two years & subsequently became lifetime president.

David was also instrumental in the setting up of the English CBA, which formed in 1991, when he was the first Chairman.

He held this role for three years & then the Secretary position for another two years.

Both the SCBA & ECBA would not be the organisations they are today, without the work David put in those early years.

For those of you who have been around as long as I have, he was also part of Meld Leisure which ran the English Pairs at Hemsby.

Organisational roles aside, he was also an accomplished carpet bowler & a longstanding member of the Suffolk team.
