Suffolk League v Bury League 2019
Wednesday 8th May 2019 at Needham Market C C

The Bury League hosted an annual competition against the Suffolk League competing for
the Presidents Cup.

6 clubs from each league were asked to supply teams of four, with Richard Sago kind
enough to organise the Suffolk League and Steve Mayhew the Bury league. It is an
unwritten rule that members of the current county team would not be selected.

A competitive and enjoyable evening resulted in Bury retaining the Cup, it really was
match of two half’s with Bury easing to a comfortable 11 — 1 win in the first round but
Suffolk fought back well in the second half to record a 7 — 5 win but not enough to
overcome Bury’s first round dominance.

Suffolk League v Bury League 2018

The Suffolk League hosted an annual competition against the Bury League competing for the Presidents Cup.

Six clubs from each league were asked to supply teams of four, with Richard Sago kind enough to organise the Suffolk League and Steve Mayhew the Bury league. It is an unwritten rule that members of the current county team would not be selected.

A competitive and enjoyable evening resulted in Bury retaining the Cup and I must take this opportunity to congratulate Thurston the current Suffolk Fours Champions whose team of: Len Lamb, Sally Dalton, Helen Halls and Marie Hagger carried on their good form from Finals Day.

It was just as well Bury won otherwise it could have been very embarrassing because the cup was last seen at:

The Presentation Evening held at Bury Golf Club on 22nd July 2017.

Any help with locating the cup would be be very much appreciated, we have 12 months to find it. We are sure that Suffolk will be out for revenge next year.
